Wishing to fly away

House sparrow on Garda lake shoreline.
I welcome every summer with hope and joy. I dread it's end and upcoming months when all I do is wait for hotter days. My moods are strongly linked to weather conditions despite the real things in my life. And there are those days in late August when you can hear the autumn coming in the wind. Nights get chillier, flowers fade, fruits fall on the ground and fields are empty. Those days bring to my mind visions of hot chocolate, comfy blankets and lying on the sofa with a good book. But only a part of me finds comfort in that. Mostly I feel regret for the passing months. I can never get enough of water, the turquoise blue of the Mediterranean and the immersing darkness of Polish lakes, and all those aromas in the air. I can't even imagine going back to long sleeves and those layers and layers of clothes.
That's the thing about August, even the high temperature days like this weekend start and end chilly, windy and cloudy.
My only remedy for this feeling is traveling. Planning a journey is like a safe net keeping me from clinomania.
Thankfully I've got a cityscaped planned so I'll be fine. Till I'll come back.

  3. You're right, Fall is coming, August seemed to be a very hot month though. The house sparrow seemed to say, "I should not be here". Good thing you got a quick shot.

My 1st time to join Camera critters. Have a great weekend!

  5. I imagine that winters in Poland are long and cold. Here we have six to eight weeks of fog in early winter. I don't care for the fog but the rest of the winter season is ok.
