Hello fellow Skywatchers.
Have You seen the BBC documentary Cloudspotting? It's a must see for for SWF participants I think. Besides plenty of lovely pictures the program rises the idea of appreciating clouds. And I had to admit that the most interesting Skywatch shots feature clouds. Like the one I spotted on my last trip to Holland.
Photo: Groningen, The Netherlands.
But then again the eternal blue has an appeal too.
Photo: Milan, Italy
Looking at my "clear sky photo" above I realised I like it so much because of the power lines and the latern so maybe we just like to see "something" in the photo and clouds make perfect models in sky shots.
To add another twist in this cloud reflection here's anther clear sky photo from Italy. Doesn't the sky make a perfect background? It makes the view seem almost unreal.
Photo: view of Sirmione, Italy.
What do You think? Clouds or clear skies? I leave You with this photo of Lake Garda.
Would it look better with a fluffy little cirrus placed diagonally to the sail boat?

Buona serata.
The first picture of the cloud is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe cloud is fantastic! We see those here and I'm always completely fascinated! Terrific captures! Love the boats, too! Happy SWF! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I guess that first cloud that you show has been crafted by winds in the upper atmosphere. It certainly is an eye catching shape. I will look out for the BBC show on clouds.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip about the BBC documentary. I already appreciate clouds but I sure would like to learn more!
ReplyDeleteGreat cloud shot.
ReplyDeleteSydney - City and Suburbs
That first photo is rather like a feather and I like the light hanging from the wires over the street. You have a nice collection of skies.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Sky Watch photos
ReplyDeleteHappy SWF! Have a nice weekend,
